Welcome!

You have made one of the most important, defining decisions in your life: to embark upon the journey of Marriage. Perhaps you're in the planning stages of marriage, newly married, or have been married for some time; whatever stage you are in, part of this journey is understanding the purpose of it all. 

 

The goal of this course is to provide an understanding of God's intent in creating marriage.

In addition, you will learn to master the interplay of cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and behavioral

activities and how these elements impact the dynamics of your marriage.

In this course you will:

  • Learn a Biblical perspective on what it means to be a husband and a wife.
  • Learn how to prioritize and declare Christ as the head of your marriage.
  • Discover why a heterosexual monogamous marriage is important to God and His eternal plan.
  • Learn about the importance of marital unity as it relates to marriage, community, fellowship and God’s eternal plan.
  • Explore cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual origins of one's own actions.
  • Explore messages from your family of origin and their application to your family of procreation. 
  • Learn how to communicate effectively and resolve conflict.
  • Learn how to create a budget and become a resourceful steward over your finances.
  • Explore what it means to be a good parent, while learning effective skills to implement.
  • Explore spiritual, emotional, and sexual desires and connectedness.

Completion and Certificate:

This is a self-paced course and can be completed in as little as 6 hours. You must spend a minimum of 6 hours on the course content and pass any quizzes for a certificate generate. Your progress will be tracked and recorded allowing you to complete the course on your own time. To get the most out of this course, it is recommended you spend a minimum of 6 weeks on the course content.

The content in this course will in large come from God's Design for Marriage: Marital & Premarital Workbook. This book is available for purchase on Amazon. The book is optional but many find it to be an invaluable tool for personal growth in their marriage.

We highly encourage you to purchase the book if you:

  • Would like to continue growing your marriage.
  • Would like to facilitate marital education in any capacity (groups, retreats, counseling, etc.).
  • Need insightful activities to foster growth in marriage and relationships.
  • Individual growth to become a better husband or wife.
